“Nobody – not a voice of authority, not your mama, not the foremost expert in your arena – gets to tell you how big your dreams can be, they can talk all they want…but you get to decide if you’re going to listen.”

Weekend Round-Up

Hi, buddies! Boy, I’m having a tough time getting started this morning. Autumn has decided to stay this time, and we have spent the morning snuggled up watching Sesame Street. Finally, I decided it was time to get up, get a cup of coffee, and get going.

This weekend we celebrated my 25th birthday early. My birthday is tomorrow. Unlike most people, I don’t dread my birthday. πŸ˜‰

We started on Saturday by going to a pumpkin patch. At this particular one (Eckert’s, Belleville) you take a hayride back to the patch. We decided it was too windy for the baby so unfortunately we didn’t get to pick any pumpkins. We still had a blast! There was an entire area dedicated to kids, with rides and a petting zoo.

After the pumpkin patch my husband was amazed that I had never been to Target. So, we went and walked through the whole store. I cannot wait to go back!Β  We finished our trip off with an early dinner at Chick-fil-A. Yum!

Yesterday we had birthday cake with my parents, and birthday dinner with my in-laws. πŸ™‚

All in all, I had a fantastic weekend! How was yours?!

Fall Playlist | Blogtober Day 11

Hey friends! Sorry for the gap in posts, I won’t sit here and make a lot of excuses, Life. That’s enough right? The great thing about this community is that you are all so supportive, which is not what I was expecting! I honestly thought that the blogging world would be a “dog-eat-dog” place. It is so pleasantly surprising to find out how wrong I was about that!

This morning I want to talk about music. More specifically, music that I feel is good for autumn. Once October hits, it’s basically the holiday season, which means for me at least, that time rushes by. All the stress (good and bad) of preparing for the season can really speed the days. So, today, I thought I’d share a music playlist that may help slow things down and give us a chance to enjoy the moment we’re in.

Let me know if you like any of these songs, and also please leave me some suggestions of other songs to listen to! πŸ™‚

The Versatile Blogger Award

Good morning lovelies! I woke up this morning with a notification that I had been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award! πŸ™‚ I have been blogging for about a year now, but I had ZERO confidence in myself. Discovering the blogging community on Twitter has completely changed my outlook on what I can do. Every day this community blows me away with all of their kindness and support. I was nominated by Molly over atΒ mindofmolly.com.

β€’ If you are nominated, you’ve been awarded the Versatile Blogger Award
β€’ Thank the person who gave you the award
β€’ Include a link to their blog
β€’ Select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly
β€’ Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award
β€’ Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself

I am not a morning person.Β But having two children under the age of 3 forces me out of bed way sooner than I would wish. Lately, I’ve decided to start embracing the mornings. It’s a mind over matter sort of situation, with a lot of coffee! πŸ˜‰

I have 2 tattoos. I got the first one when I was 18, on a dare. It’s a poorly drawn peace sign between my shoulder blades. Maybe someday I will come up with a cool idea for a cover up. The second is on my wrist, two elephants with there trunks intertwined.Β  I got it to represent the bond between my sister and I. I intend to get at least 2 more to represent my children, once I think of what I want!

I love spaghetti! Need I say more? πŸ˜‰

I’m a soda addict. BUT, I gave it up one month ago! I’m pretty proud of myself for that. I used to drink nothing but Dr. Pepper 24/7.

Benjamin Burnley’s voice speaks to my soul. Okay, so you may not know who I’m talking about. He is the lead singer of Breaking Benjamin. You NEED to go listen to him. Like, drop what your doing and go listen!

I’m a sucker for self-help books. Don’t roll your eyes yet. I know alot of them are the same information over and over. I have found one book that is different. It is what has helped me realize that I can go for my dreams, for real. It’s called Girl, Wash Your Face.

I love the Sound of Music. My grandma introduced me, and we watched it every year on or around Christmas. It’s a tradition I still carry on.

My nominations are:

My Favorite Halloween Costume | Blogtober Day 5

Hey, friends! Welcome back! In the spirit of all things October and Halloween I’m going to share with you my favorite costume as a child.

Growing up, my parents didn’t have a ton of money, so my costumes were generally thrown together with what we had laying around. I’ve been a pumpkin, a scarecrow, a vampire, a princess.. etc.

My all time favorite thing to dress up as was none other than a witch! I’d say I dressed up as a witch at least 4 years in a row. Each year we changed it up a little bit from the year before. A few years I would try to be as scary of a witch as possible, and then the other years I went for a cuter look.

I wish I had some pictures to show y’all! 😦

What was your favorite costume as a kid? Do you still dress up now? If so, give me some ideas down below! πŸ™‚
